Spoiled Rotten

Wait, I was talking about me. I am totally spoiled rotten. Totally and utterly. And it's not my fault. (Isn't that the first sign that you have a problem? Denial.)

My kids are big enough to take care of themselves for about 2 minutes before fighting when we are home. BUT at the germ laced indoor playground also know as Chuck E. Cheese, my children can play for HOURS. Which means momma can sit for HOURS!!

Michael won a gift card so I spent $2.15 on a drink and sat.

It was pretty nice. They enjoyed it and it was a good place to spend our morning. I know that this place freaks many moms out but it hasn't bothered me (yet). And who could say no to this face?

Or this one? She couldn't even stop telling me something long enough to take a picture.

I'm in love with those germs faces and enjoyed my day drowning in blessings. (Until the afternoon... That's another story)

Blessings and Joy!!

Watching our words

We have begun scripture memory at our house. And we've stuck with it so far....three wholes weeks into 2013.

We successfully remembered the first one.

Joshua 1:9
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. For The Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

I'm paying them for memorizing the verse. (And taking it away for acting like crazy fools.)

The second verse is directed to the ugliness that has been taking over at my house. It was really bad over the Christmas break....so I picked a scripture and version that speaks to us.

Ephesians 4:29 (The Message)
Watch the way you talk. Let nothing foul or dirty come out of your mouth. Say only what helps. Each word a gift.

We practiced this morning.

Michael was able to paraphrase.... "Watch what you say. Don't let bad words come out of your mouth. Say only nice things".

Katelynn (who has decided to go by Kate because she is tired of writing her whole name on her paper at school) decided to read it. "Witch the way you talk. Let nothing fool or dirty come out of your mother. Say only what helps. Each word a gift."

Not quite....but we got some of the words right. Had to share....made me giggle.

Blessings and Joy,
Tiff

Thankful in January

(Copied the idea from a news story I heard earlier this week)

Its hard to be angry or down when you are thankful. This year I am going to write down what I'm thankful for everyday. I even have a little journal that I am "storing" on the back of my potty and everyday I'm going to write something I am thankful for. I hope this will develop into a habit AND lead to a life that is more peaceful and full of contentment.

1/1/13: I am thankful for my family. For my handsome hubby and my beautiful (and challenging) children.

1/2/13: I am thankful for our home. It's perfect for us. Very lived in and homey. I had a friend call it our compound because Mike has made it so very cool. A cool place for my kids to play and explore.

1/3/13: I'm thankful for this.....

The Lewis kid super ninjas attacked daddy.... I sat back with a cup of coffee and laughed and watched. I challenge you to start writing why you are thankful each away. It's hard to be frustrated and thankful at the same time.

Blessings,
Tiffany
